Catherine Devic
|
Vice-Chairman of AFIS in association with DGA, France
Catherine DEVIC graduated from Sup Telecom, class of 1995, majoring in data communication networks. At EDF, she performed expertise missions in this domain for eight years. After several projects and the successful industrialization of nation- and europe-wide infrastructures and services (with the interconnection of 3000+ EDF sites), she went in for applied research in mobile networks and wireless sensors networks in severe industrial environmental conditions. She had then the opportunity to participate in, and to manage, collaborative research projects co-financed by the Ministry of Research and Industry (ANR RNRT projects OCARI, RAHMS, EVERYWARE). These projects resulted in a number of papers in conferences and scientific journals.
For more than 7 years now, Catherine DEVIC is in charge of a research group of about 30 research engineers on instrumentation and control systems and equipment for power stations, and functional safety of digital systems. She has a particular interest in techniques and solutions allowing the long-term control and operation of complex systems and the use of innovative technologies to improve performance.
Catherine DEVIC is the EDF representative at the boards of EXERA (Exploitants d’Equipements de Mesure, de Régulation et d’Automatismes) and AFIS (Association Française d’Ingénierie Système). She has thus the opportunity to exchange viewpoints with other industry representatives and academic researchers regarding best practices and solutions.
Since October 2009, Catherine DEVIC is the Vice-Chairman of AFIS in association with DGA (Délégation Générale de l’Armement).
