Jean de Kervasdoué

Jean de Kervasdoué (born de Kerguiziau de Kervasdoué) first graduated in 1966 as an agronomy engineer at the National Insitute of Agronomy (INA-Paris). He then continued his education at the ENGREF in Paris before going to the USA where he obtained an MBA and a PhD in Socio-Economics at Cornell University, NY.

From 1970 to 1981 he conducted many research projects and written papers and books on innovation in the health sector, in health management, health policy and in evaluation of public policy and worked from 1974 to 1981 at the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris. In 1981 he became adviser to the French Prime Minister and went on to be appointed “Directeur des Hôpitaux” (under the Secretary of Health in charge of all French hospitals). He then founded and chaired (from 1986 to 1997) the lead consulting firm in the health sector in France, Sanesco. Since then, Jean de Kervasdoué has been a professor of health and economics management, teaching in the most prestigious schools and universities around the world, whilst continuing with consulting missions for, amongst others, the OECD and the kingdom of Morrocco.

Presently, Jean de Kervasdoué is professor at the CNAM , Paris. He is also Director of the Pasteur/CNAM School of Public Health. Born in Lannion (Britany) in 1944, he is married, has two children and four grand children. He was awarded, amongst other distinctions, the Legion of Honor (“officier”). He has written 17 books and over 200 articles. He is a member of the French academy of technology.
